Factors Affecting selection Of Office Building

Several factors should be considered while selecting office building. Look, size, space, layout, surroundings, cost, light etc highly affect the selection of office building.

The following factors should be considered while selecting office building:

1. Look of the building

The building should have an attractive appearance. It should be appealing to the eyes and provide favorable image to the office. It should impress visitors.

2. Surroundings

The surrounding environment of the building should be clean and healthy. It should be free from noise, pollution and disturbances. It should not be crowed. The building should be located in a safe commercial area.

3. Size and space

Size and space is another factor that should be considered while selecting the office building. The size of the building should meet the space needs of the office. It should also provide space for expansion. The shape of the building should be right. Square or rectangle shape should be preferred.

4. Layout

Layout is space planning. The building should meet the layout needs of departments, machines, equipment, furniture and people. The building should meet the needs for service facilities such as toilets, dressing room, canteen etc. There should be space for lift in multistory building.
