Adventure tourism involves physical activities with certain level of risk . Adventure tourists love wilderness activities. According to the nature of activities adventure tourism can be classified as land based adventure tourism, water based tourism and air based tourism.
1. Land Based Adventure Tourism
- Rock climbing: climb up natural large rocks, cliffs ,or artificial walls with the help of different equipment.
- Hiking: Recreational activity of walking for pleasure in natural environment.
- Trekking: Making a long journey to enjoy the scenery of mountain, rural villages, and hills.
- Mountain Biking: Riding bicycles over rough roads, hilly areas and remote villages.
- Jungle Safari: Exploring the jungle by walking, via elephant, horse or a vehicle.
- Camping: Recreational activity which includes lodging in a tent away from home.
- Bungee Jump: Jumping from higher places such as bridge, building etc. with the help of elastic cord.
- Boating: Travelling by boat on water for recreation and pleasure.
- Rafting: Recreational activity of drifting down a river.
- Canyoning: Traveling by sliding and jumping in canyons.
- Yachting: Racing or travelling by sailing yacht.
- Diving: jumping into water from high platform.
- Kayaking: Recreational event of traveling by small watercraft called kayak.

3. Air Based Adventure Tourism
- Para gliding: adventure sport of soaring above the hills by paraglider.
- Cable car: cable transportation which is used for traveling hilly and mountainous regions.
- Micro lighting: Flying via very small (1 or 2 seated) and light aircraft.
- Hot-air Balloon: large fabric bag filled with heated air used to float and fly.
